Imperial Forces Invade Tokyo Subway!
I know, I know. Do I post every Star Wars related thing I find on the internet? The answer no. Not every Star Wars thing. Just most things. This kept me smiling for the better part of the morning.
In My Chest Beats a very Nerdy Heart
Imperial Forces Invade Tokyo Subway! This combines so many interesting things: 1. The Japanese. Every day I wish I was Japanese. I wish. The land of robots, anime, samurai, strange TV shows and even stranger pop stars. 2. Star Wars Just like on my sheets at home! 3. Tokyo Subway I just finished reading a book called "Underground" by Haruki Murakami. It's about the Tokyo Subway gas attacks in 1995. It's a pretty serious book in which the author interviews victims of the attack as well as members of the cult responsible. It was just interesting to actually see some Tokyo mass transit. ![]() ![]()
I just got the coolest gift in the mail. I'll scan it and throw it on the site when I get home from work today. Seriously, you are all going to go crazy when you see it. Instantly. Crazy.
stripped of my geek pride
So my laptop died yesterday. I mean really died, like it's not getting power anymore Now, I'm a pretty big nerd and I don't think in the last 10 years I've ever been confronted with a problem I can't fix.
Murderball
Well, this is a pretty major operation and I just didn't feel comfortable ripping out a laptop motherboard and working on it, so I grudgingly took it to my local computer fix-it shop. Of course I was greeted rather unemotionally by the condescending nerd guy. It was a rather odd switch because usually I am the condescending nerd guy. Anyway, 130 bucks and it will take them 4 days to complete my 3 hour repair job. I'm still pretty bummed, but this helped.
If you haven't seen it, I'd really recommend it.
Bye Bye Christmas
I hauled out the Christmas tree yesterday. Even though I don't really get into the holiday spirt all that much, it's still kind of depressing dragging a shriveled tree out to the curb.
I guess I've just never understood the whole Christmas thing. I mean, I understand why people want to celebrate, but I don't get the significance of putting a dying tree in your house. What does that have to do with anything? I actually scoured Wikipedia to find out the origin of all these bizarre Christmas rituals (I'm always looking for facts to back up my "Christmas-Hating"), but I didn't really find anything that interesting. Oh well. I got a rough mix of a bunch of the songs Dan and I have been working on. It's sounding really great and we are basically just in the finishing process. I've been strangely productive over the last few days, so I should have some shows starting to pop up on the site. |
