oh man oh man!
well, i just returned from a business trip.
seattle > vancouver
yes, that's right. a business trip. now for those of you who know me, i know how unbelievable it sounds. i mean, jeremy? the corporate slacker? what company would want to have jeremy messersmith represent them? well, let me just say that after going on my first business trip of all time, i'm not in a hurry to go on another one. at least, not in that business. i spent the better part of a week holed up in a cheap motel 6 in indiana watching crappy cable television. i had all these grandiose plans for myself. i was going to do some journaling; maybe write a book or write a hit song. instead, i ended up watching jon claude van damne movies on tnt for hours on end. sigh. sometimes i wish i was one of those really motivated people who can decide what they want out of life and actually achieve it. then i think to myself- "wait a minute! those kind of people annoy the piss out of me! why would i want to be motivated, self-assured and productive?" so there you have it. i would much rather be lazy, unmotivated, and insecure than be a productive member of society. mmmm, sweet lethargy... side note: i'm doing a wee bit of recording this week. wish me luck! p.s. - the lone bright spot of the business trip was walking into a thrift store empty-handed and walking out with an original 1977 cut away millenium falcon model still in its original packaging for 3 dollars. nerd alert! nerd alert!

if you get a chance, check out this web site - www.pollypaulusma.com. i handed her a disc at the joseph arthur show the other day and she wrote about it in her blog. later, jeremy |
