rockin' the acadia
thanks to everyone who came out to the acadia last night. the fun part of playing shows is getting to see all the friends that you never get to see enough of. of course, the problem is that i can never spend as much time with them as i want without feeling guilty for not talking to another group of friends.

i was pretty wiped from working 10 hours and having not much sleep, but i felt pretty good about the show. kudos to the choir and my fellow bandmates. great job.

and yes i did capture the squirrels this morning. finally.

rude awakening
i woke up in the middle of the night last night with sounds coming from my kitchen. then i heard the acoustic guitar strings being plucked. i darted up in bed only to notice that the gate on my flying squirrel cage was open. fortunately i turned on the light and he scampered back into the cage.

on an entirely unrelated note- do you think that we should be more upset over minorities being given preference in jobs (ala affirmative action) or should we be upset over ceo's who make multi-million dollar salaries. i've been thinking a lot about how to incorporate personal ethics into an economic or social system. whatever....

this is my last squirrel post. really.

look at all the nifty toilet seats!
doesn't consumerism make you sick sometimes?

well, i'm still working the night shift this week. it's totally wreaking havoc on my fragile body. if all of you could see me, i look a bit like dracula, the wolfman, and david bowie all rolled into one. it's great.

i threw another song online today. it's called "miracles." if you've been to a show recently you've probably heard it. and i fixed "i'm gonna love you to pieces." it should all be working now so by all means, go download it all.

well, i'm going to try to write something original now...

urghhhhhh
only another 4 and 1/2 hours until my first ever night shift of my professional career is over...

hey, i got a couple of flying squirrels today! they're pretty little and they really seem to like blankets... as far as names, i think i've decided on "josepe'" (pronounced yo-sep-eh) and "esteban". if i get a third, there is a high chance that his name will end up being "umberto'". that will complete all the names that i wanted to name my sons. the only problem is that i have no way to know the gender of these little creatures, so i will need female names for them as well as male names (in case they're, y'know, chicks). wow. i have such a male bias.

i put a new tune online called "snow day", so go listen to it and tell me all your thoughts. peace.

what a year for a new year
well, i managed to produce one new tune this weekend (just to resolve the cliffhanger of a post from the other day). it's called "snow day" and it's, well, kind of odd sounding. it's a happy song, but in that kind of twisted, tim burton style happy. i'll probably throw it online so y'all can hear it.

give money to tsunami aid. or band aid. or debt relief in africa. or fair trade.

i can't really think of any new year's resolutions, so if anyone has anything they would like for me to change, now is the time to let me know. actually, i forgot all about resolutions until someone at work mentioned that his gym has been abnormally crowded this week. anyway, suggestions?

i've been noticing that i have been suffering from internet withdrawals. i was talking with v about it and i think i may spend a wee bit too much time re-reading the same cnn stories. hmmm. it's possible. my new obsession has been www.garageband.com though- i keep impulsively checking my spot on the charts every hour. sigh.

shortest... post....ever!
well, i'm going to try to get some writing/recording this weekend. stay tuned...
